WELCOME TO SHALOM TARBENACLE-TANGA

Shalom Tabernacle is a multiethnic, multicultural church in its outset. This is the church's primary vision. Our "topos" - that is, our local church vision is to incooporate all people fromk different tribal backgrounds as children of God who can worship the Lord together in unity.
Thus, we welcome people from all walks of life to join us and worship the Lord Master and Saviour, Jesus Christ the son of God.We emphasize strong biblical teaching and committed christian life that honours the Master who called us to live a holy life. To do this, we we have children's church for kids from age three to six, age seven to twelve and juniors from age thirteen to seventeen. Then we have the adults worshiping separately.
The Juniours are trained to be able in all things that the adults do, such as praise and worship, teaching and preaching and otherss. The style of training these is, of course, not the same as teaching adults. We discovered early that mixing these with adults puts them out of place.
When these turn eighteen, they become capable ministeres who can potentially hold positions of leadership and service in the church.Another quite important aspect of training done is the Beginner's Class.
All born again christians are traines in a special class that takes about three months. Important biblical subjects such as "Understanding the meaning of Salvation","Baptism in the Holy Spirit", "Water Baptism",Trials and Tempations" and others are taught. When they finish the programme they receive certificates in a special graduation exercise to motivate them and others to attend classes fully.
As for the whole church, we emphasise Friday Bible studies and every after some time we conduct teaching seminars. This church is grounded on prayer. Prayer and fasting is a strong teaching and practice here. All departments of this church strongly adhere to this. We believe that the church growth if this church, which is in a city with 90% of the population being Islam is attributed to that. With this comment, we welcome you to join and worship with us whenever you are in Tanga.

Rev. George Nywage,
pastor and Province Overseer.
